Make It Fit is a set of calculators and guides for people planning their own home projects.
Why it exists
Most DIY projects stall at the same point: you know what you want to build, but not how much to buy. Guess low and you make a second trip. Guess high and you are left with material you cannot return. Make It Fit turns the measurements you already have into a quantity you can take to the store.
How the calculators work
Every calculator shows its method, not just its answer. The formulas are standard area and volume arithmetic with the allowances trades normally apply for cuts, waste and coats. If a number depends on a judgement call — how much overage a diagonal tile layout needs, for example — the page says so and explains the range.
What this is not
These are estimates, not quotes, and not a substitute for professional advice. Product coverage varies by manufacturer, surfaces vary by condition, and building regulations vary by location. Always check quantities against the product packaging and, for structural or regulated work, against a qualified professional.
Where the site is now
Make It Fit is still young, but the tools on it are finished ones: every calculator and guide you can open has been worked through and checked rather than filled in to pad a list. New ones are added as they are written, a single tool at a time.
